The man have a whooping cough as he laughed, "I am the programmer!" He exclaimed, finding it very amuzing that she did not catch onto that, or that he wasn't clear enough, "And a good one, if I may say so myself...Here..." He swung around and grabbed a circular device that looked like a pocket watch and then swung back, holding it under Cylenia's nose, "Activate." He ordered. The watch opened compartments holding slender metal tentacles that it raised itself on. The center of it also opened and something akin to a submarine's para scope rose from it. It stood very shakily but seemed alert, "Completely sentient!" The man cried, trying to sell his work, prove it's worth, "I'm not much of a mechanic, I couldn't build anything for it to speak, but watch. What is one plus one?" He asked. The device clicked twice. "Two plus two?" It clicked four times, "You see! Simple computations, but it can do so much more! I can design the A.I., though I cannot offer you something to put it in unfortunately."

"Dat ish hokay, hy ken beelduh ah body." Alyssia confirmed, eager for the chance as well.

The man raised an eyebrow on his wrinkled forehead, "I can speak Russian." He told her. Alyssia was jolted then beamed, letting out a fast string of Russian. The man laughed again and answered in Russian, leaving Cylenia out of the conversation for a bit before he returned his attention to Cylenia, speaking English once again, "Very talented companion you have." He grinned, "Now on the subject of price. It will take me some time to design an A.I. to the specs of a Clank your friend will build, so go ahead and sell some of these gems for cash, enjoy your time on Vertigo. Whatever you two don't spend while you're here I will accept as payment. What do you say?" He extended a hand to shake on the deal.

Cylenia listened, raising a brow when he said the AI programmer was him, though she was not surprised...she had a slight brain fart at the moment, but... she figured things out by the way he was swinging about the establishment. Her head seemed to spin as he tried to convince her that he was a great programmer... which, she did not doubt by far.

With a sigh, she continued to let him show off, then...he began to speak Russia to Alyssia. This of course barely phased her, she had felt as though she was peopled out for the moment. When the conversation proceeded in English, she was spacing out at a very creepy looking spider within the corner of the room, almost seeming as though it was made from... wires. She barely heard them speak at that moment, her eyes flickered a as a hand was thrust at her promptly.

"Right, yeah. Sure." she shook his hand, judging by the expression on Alyssia's face; whatever deal she just made was... decent. With a slight yawn, she proceeded to the exit, thanking him for his time as best she could; "Thank you, we will be back promptly." Now...she needed clued in a bit..."What are we doing again?" she asked, seeming out of it.

The man chuckled again as the left and he waved good-bye.

Alyssia had loosened her grip on Cylenia when he had started speaking Russian, but she absentmindedly held onto her, "Hy em goink do construct eh bodeh, end e vill provid ah A.I. dat fits de clenk." Alyssia explained as they walked out with all the loot. She took notice of her dazed expression and behavior, "Hyu hokay, Cylenia?"

Shaking her head, she smirked a bit, "I'm fine, I just dazed out for a bit... I'm kinda tired." She stretched, her arms reaching high into the sky after setting the loot down for a moment. "Well, I guess we should go get some parts, if you don't have any - that is." She smiled lightly, then proceeded to pursue the shops in Vertigo. Her hand moving to her hair as she realizes they should probably drop their loot off somewhere...instead of carrying it about for everyone to see.

"We need to do something with these bags, until we are ready to pay up." she nodded in agreement to her statement, turning towards Alyssia.

"Da, goot hidea." Alyssia agreed.

"So, about my proposition?"
"You have a deal."

ONE MONTH LATER

Lots of planning, building, tinkering, revising, rebuilding went into constructing a suitable mechanical partner for the duo. At first they were going to go with a humanoid body, but decided a smaller body would be able to do things they couldn't.
Finally they were together with the old man again and going to activate their new creation. Alyssia was beyond excited, she contributed to creating, for intents and purposes, a life of sorts.
"Ready?" The old man asked through his decaying yellow toothy grin, he input the software to the machine and with a couple whirs and clicks it began coming to life.
